Frequently asked questions

1. How do I enrol my child?

You can join in two easy ways:

  1. Fill out our online booking form with your child’s details

  2. Call Sophie directly for a friendly chat about your child’s needs

We’ll discuss current spaces, recommend the right group for ability and confidence level, and send a welcome pack with everything you need to get started.

2. How many children are in each group?

Our group sessions have a maximum of 6 children per class.
Small enough for personalised attention — large enough for peer motivation, discussion and confidence building.

Every child is known, valued and supported so they feel safe to take risks and learn.

3. Who teaches the sessions?

All sessions are run by qualified UK teachers with classroom experience.
Our team is:

  • Fully safeguarding trained

  • DBS checked

  • Experienced in KS2 learning and 11+

  • Warm, calm, confidence-first educators

We believe learning feels best when children feel safe, understood and capable.

4. How does payment work?

We use TutorBird for smooth, secure billing.

  • Invoices are sent monthly in advance

  • Payments are automated (no chasing, no admin)

  • Your space is reserved for your child each month

You’ll have a clear record of payments and sessions - simple, predictable and stress-free.

5. What year groups do you teach?

We currently support children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, including:

  • Confidence building and core skills

  • Reading, writing and maths development

  • 11+ preparation (gentle, structured and not pressured)

  • Homework support and study habits

We meet every child where they are — no comparisons, no pressure.

6. How will I receive feedback and track progress?

Communication matters. We keep you in the loop through:

  • WhatsApp parent groups for quick updates and reminders

  • ITAP assessments to monitor progress in skills and confidence

  • Regular feedback on strengths and next steps

You’ll always know how your child is doing - no guessing, no surprises.

7. Do you offer 1:1 tuition as well as groups?

Yes - alongside groups, we offer weekly 1:1 tuition, one-off assessments and mock exams for children who need targeted focus or structured preparation.

Some families choose group sessions weekly with occasional 1:1 sessions for exam strategy - we’re flexible around your child.

We also SEN sessions in 1:1 or group settings.

8. Can my child try a session first?

Where spaces allow, yes - we offer trial sessions.
This helps us make sure:

  • The group is the right ability level

  • Your child feels comfortable with the space and teacher

  • We start with confidence, not overwhelm

After the trial, you can continue monthly if it feels like a good fit.

9. What should my child bring?

Just a:

  • Water bottle

  • Positive attitude

We provide the biscuits! All lesson materials, workbooks and resources.
Children leave with tasks and wins they feel proud of.

10. What if we need to pause or cancel sessions?

We understand life changes.
If you need to pause or cancel:

  • Notice periods are outlined in your welcome pack

  • Spaces are held month-to-month

  • We simply ask for communication so we can offer spaces fairly

Our goal is to make this easy, supportive and respectful for all families.
