1:1 Tutoring Sessions

Personalised teaching.

Focused support.

Real progress.

1:1 Sessions

Every child learns differently. Sometimes, a child needs more than additional practice. They need a teacher who can take the time to understand exactly where they're getting stuck and help them move forward.

At Tutoring by Teachers, our one-to-one tuition is delivered by qualified teachers who know how to identify learning gaps, build understanding and adapt their teaching to the individual child.

Whether your child is struggling with a particular subject, has lost confidence or would benefit from more personalised challenge, we're here to help you find the right approach.

Individual attention in an inspiring learning environment.

Your child can enjoy focused 1:1 teaching at one of our welcoming tutoring centres, with practical resources and lessons tailored to their needs.

Tailored and Targeted

No generic worksheets. No one-size-fits-all teaching.

We identify exactly where your child needs support, adapt every session to their understanding and build the skills, confidence and independence they need to progress.

When might 1:1 tuition be the right choice?

Not every child needs individual tuition. Many children thrive in our small-group sessions, where they benefit from learning alongside others.

But sometimes, more focused support can make a real difference.

One-to-one tuition may be particularly helpful if your child:

  • Has specific gaps in English or maths that need targeted attention.

  • Is finding it difficult to keep up with learning in school.

  • Lacks confidence and feels anxious about making mistakes.

  • Needs teaching broken down into smaller, manageable steps.

  • Would benefit from additional challenge or a more individual pace.

  • Has additional learning needs that require a more personalised approach.

The important thing isn't choosing 1:1 tuition. It's choosing the right support for your child.

How our 1:1 tuition works

1. Tell us about your child

Share what you've noticed, what school has said and what you'd like your child to achieve.

2. We'll identify the right starting point

Depending on your child's needs, we may recommend an initial session, a shorter diagnostic or a more detailed TBT Learning Assessment.

3. Personalised teaching begins

Your child's teacher will focus on their individual learning priorities, adapting explanations, questions and activities as they progress.

4. We review progress

We look at how your child's understanding, confidence and independence are developing, so teaching continues to respond to what they need.

We want children to become confident, capable and increasingly independent learners.

That means knowing when to explain, when to offer a prompt and when to step back and let a child think.

We use practical resources, visual models, carefully chosen questions and opportunities for children to explain their reasoning.

Because the aim isn't for a child to need a tutor forever.

It's to help them develop the understanding and confidence to succeed more independently.
